First of all, I want to extend a very ENORMOUS thank you to my BFF Jen Lancaster for embarking on this contest with me and by proxy, introducing me to so many wonderful new people. I hope everyone who is buying my books and reading this blog on her recommendation are not disappointed, I am so happy to know you!
Second, an even more enormous thank you and all my biggest puffy heart love to each and every one of you who entered the contest, especially those of you who ordered multiple books and sent out multiple e-mails…I have been blown away by your excitement and truly hope that someday I get to a level of sales that will mean my publisher will send me out on tour so that I can meet all of you in your hometowns and tell you thank you in person. In the meantime, I hope you will keep up with me here and on Twitter and on Facebook and through the books. From the bottom of my heart, I wish every single one of you could win this contest, your notes have been the highlight of the last month! But that would be way too many lunches, and my trainer would kill me, so there can only be one winner.
And now, for the moment of truth. The grand prize winner of the Stennifer Lunchtastic Tour is…
Alyson Ray of Dallas!
Thanks Dallas Convention and Vistor's Bureau! |
Alyson- Jen and I will be in touch to do some planning and figure out the best date to come take you and your bestie to lunch, so CONGRATULATIONS! I’ve never been to Dallas, but Jen has and she loves it there, so I’m excited for this first visit and Jen is planning some big hair, and we are both very much looking forward to meeting you!
Some interesting info…
We had 609 entries in this contest
29 of them from people named Jen
8 from people named Stacey
Special credit to the wonderful Stacey Beaman for both enthusiasm and volume.
Best "other thing" spotted on an order receipt: Bat house
Most flattering "other thing" spotted on an order receipt: all my other books, even the anthologies
Thank you thank you thank you again for all your support, and keep checking back. Later this week there will be a quick and easy opportunity to win some signed books and limited edition Good Enough to Eat aprons, and more giveaways of fabulous kitchen items coming. Plus, of course, musings on food, fresh recipes, updates, rants about stuff that bugs me…the usual!
Yours in Good Taste, and Much Gratitude,
Stacey

ReplyDeleteCongrats Alyson! OOOOOO...if y'all will be in Dallas, can we expect some promotional events? I'm about 4 hours away, but I'll make the drive!

Congrats to Alyson. I'm bummed that I didn't win, but I'm very excited to read your book. Barnes and Noble sent me an email this morning that it was now available to download. It was the very first thing I saw when I opened my eyes this morning. I'll be starting it just as soon as I finish Beachcombers...hopefully, this afternoon.
ReplyDeleteHappy for Alyson ... but sadder than a monkey on a cupcake that I'm not going to get to meet you! Darn it! And yet, I get to read more of your glorious words in your new book, so still a great big win for me. Thank you for doing what you do. And thank you giving us all the opportunity to meet you through this contest. I've never been to Dallas, either, but I have been to Austin, Texas and the people there were wonderfully kind and lovely. A beautiful state! Have a great time.
ReplyDeleteI am thrilled beyond words---thank you fellow Stacey and Stennifer Fans, I appreciate your congrats. My BFF Bertta and I are so excited!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations to Alyson - I'm VERY jealous! I hope you ladies have a wonderful time. Stacey, I'm looking forward to receiving and reading "Good Enough to Eat!"
ReplyDeleteShould Alyson be unable to perform her duties, I will happily step up as second runner up, because I am a giver that way.
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to read the book! Amazon said it shipped today!

Congratulations Alyson! I recommend Obzeet in North Dallas as a great spot for a unique outdoor dining experience with live music, dinner, drinks and a wonderful assortment of cakes and pies.
ReplyDeleteCrap! I bought two copies of the book and forgot to forward my receipt. I suck, but I'm sure the book doesn't. (-:
ReplyDeleteCongrats - but a huge "ohh man!" from a bummed out reader in Michigan. Started it on my Nook today.
ReplyDeleteAlyson Ray, if you're looking for a date for lunch, I can drive to Dallas. ;) Congrats to you!
ReplyDeleteAnd a note to Stacey's publisher: please send her on tour.

ReplyDeleteWish it was me, but congrats! Stacey, I finished the book YESTERDAY and it was fantastic! Thanks for writing it! I love your talent and life outlook. I can only imagine Stennifer in action.. good luck, Alyson, I hope you get a word in edgewise! :-)
ReplyDeleteHi Stacey,
ReplyDeleteI already posted yesterday, but honestly am not sure if it is possible to just post a comment here without doing it as a "reply" so I'm popping back in to say that I happily received my book today! It took some outsmarting of the UPS guy's schedule (I harbor what I'm pretty sure is an irrational theory that delivery people intentionally avoid me when I'm home and come when they know I will be at work - I don't know what the benefit would be to them, of course, but I'm sure I will come up with something!). Anyway, just looking at the cover of your book filled me with such eagerness to crack the spine and dig into this treasure. I spent a lot of my younger adult life listening to the doctors and "experts" who told my parents that anorexia was going to kill me. I decided, at some point, that that simply wasn't going to work for me anymore, and I fought my way back ... on a long journey that started with an apple as my very first "food promise" so apples are pretty significant to me as well. And looking at this cover image of a headless body holding food, slightly blurred, slightly distorted, with only the food really in focus ... the cover itself tells a story - and an accurate one, at least in my experience and I'm sure the experiences of countless others. Thank you for sharing your voice with people (like myself) who have been muted by all this for so long. I am now off to read ...
Congratulations on what I'm sure will be another wonderful success story!
Congrats to Alyson, but so SO bummed I wasn't able to get Stennifer to Lafayette!!
ReplyDeleteLafayette LA or Lafayette IN? LOL
ReplyDeleteStacey, your book was amazing. It hit my kindle in the morning of release day and I finished it early the next morning. (I'm nocturnaland luckily it was my night off.)
SUper happy for Alyson and super bummed for me and my friend Bri that we don't get to meet Stennifer. Boohoo.
