Spatulicious! With a giveaway.

Chickens-

Here is another quick product recommendation, and this one with a fabulous giveaway!

First, a little backstory:

I am a spatula girl.  And by spatula, I mean a slab of silicone on the end of a stick that I can use to make perfect scrambled eggs, or fold cake batter, or scrape something sticky out of one vessel and into another.

I am also, it should go without saying, a lazy girl, which means that while I am turning my kitchen into a disaster area, I require multiples of nearly every utensil so I don't have to stop and wash something, and everything goes in the dishwasher.

This is particularly complicated when it comes to the spatula situation, since the really good ones have wooden handles.  This means that you really have to be careful about cleaning, since stuff can get into the seam and be really disgusting.  You can pull the silicone head off of the wood to avoid putting the wood in the dishwasher, but after a few times, you find that the wood and silicone decide not to love each other nearly as much as they once did, and then the head of your spatula falls off into the egg whites mid-fold or flops off into the quiche filling spraying you with liquid eggs and you get powerfully in touch with your inner vulgarian.

So when I saw the Get it Right Spatula line at the Housewares show?  I was more excited than someone should probably be.  In fact, I think they may have questioned my sanity.  But these people, much like their name, have in the simplest possible terms, gotten it right.

Their spatulas are a single piece of silicone that is heat proof to 464 degrees, and heat resistant to 550!  The weight is perfect, the flex is strong enough to work with stiff cookie dough but soft enough to make perfect eggs.  The whole thing goes right in the dishwasher, and since there are no seams, it cleans like a dream.

They have four sizes, a regular size called the ultimate, which will be your go-to for almost every application.  Then there is a long one with a slimmer head that is a total game changer for getting things out of jars.  Charming Suitor is a peanut-butter on english muffin for breakfast EVERY DAY kinda guy, and this skinny version is his new best friend.  Then there is a mini version, which is like Honey I Shrunk the Ultimate, and I love it for little jobs like scraping homemade salad dressing out of the mixing bowl and into a container. The Pro is a serious and massive version that is great if you do a lot of large batch baking.

Even cooler?  They come in a dozen awesome colors.  So you can match your decor, or buy each size in a different color so they are easy to spot in the drawer.  I have a Pro in Magenta, an Ultimate in Teal, a Skinny in Orange, and minis in both Gray and Lime.  But for your kitchen, they also come in White, Black, Lavender, Sky Blue, Pink, Red and Yellow.  There is even a set that is striated to look like BACON!

And yes, I do, in fact, wish I had one of each size in every color, despite recognizing that having four dozen spatulas is insanely ridiculous.  But sometimes you are feeling lavender, and sometimes you are feeling yellow, and that is just how things go.  I own it.

Because I love you all, and because Get it Right is such a rockstar company, I have THREE SETS of spatulas to giveaway to three lucky Chickens!  You will get a set of three spatulas, an Ultimate, a Skinny and a Mini, and even better, you get to custom pick your colors!  Three different colors, all the same, your choice.

Just comment below to enter, hopefully telling us why these spatulas will absolutely change your life and cooking, by 11:59 pm CST on July 31, and on August 1 I will announce the three winners!

In the meantime, check out their website for more info and to dream of the colors...  GET IT RIGHT

And if you can't wait, you can buy one  HERE

Yours in Good Taste,
The Polymath

  1. I LOVE to bake!! Especially royal iced flood cookies! These spatulas would be a great addition to my baking gear!

  2. Ooh thanks for the chance to win these! I do a lot of baking/cooking and am always putting my spatulas in use. I think the skinny one would work pretty good when I bake cookies:)

  3. I have just started getting into cooking and I have realized that I am sorely missing the right tools for the job. These would be a great start!

  4. I am very hard on my utensils, so I am always on the lookout for decent spatulas. Hoping to be a winner since these spatulas sound awesome!

  5. Love the colors, love that these are heat-proof! You can never have enough good spatulas!

  6. Great for making cookies. How will I choose I color? These are great!

  7. I love spatulas! And having some that can go into the dishwasher, excellent!

  8. I too love silicone spatulas, but not wood handles. Three years ago my daughter gave me a set of three that have metal handles. I use them all the time, but often leave one resting in a pan on the stove (sauteing onions or something) and that metal handle gets HOT! I would love a set of all silicone spatulas, and so would my scorched hand.

  9. The perfect spatula! And it comes in colors. As a clean freak, I love that the spatula is one piece and can go right in the dishwasher. My husband has food allergies and it would be a great solution to keep the utensils separate without worrying about cross-contamination.

  10. I live to cook/bake and the hubs and I have a deal that he cleans. So these would probably save my husband's sanity, time, and you know, our marriage.;)

  11. My comment got et!

RED! I love that these come in red. I have a number with silicone heads right now, but I fear their fate may be similar to that described above. Should I not be fortunate enough to win a set, I'll probably buy my own - nice to know about these....in RED!!!

  12. I had NO IDEA that a spatula could be strong enough to stir cookie dough. That is life changing in itself...

  13. So cool! My hubby would especially like me to win these so he gets more home-cooked meals!

  14. I was in one of the first classes that had girls after Lane Tech went co-ed in the mid-70's, and those shop teachers showed us no mercy! We didn't have home ec at Lane, but we had two years of mandatory shop and drafting, and one of the enduring lessons of shop class was this: you must have the right tool to do the job right. Never open a paint can with a screwdriver - always have a paint can key and save your screwdriver for driving screws! Respect your tools and use them correctly. These spatulas are the living embodiment of the right tool for the job. There is just the right one for any kitchen task. I must have them!

  15. I am also a spatula girl, but my wooden handled ones wouldn't stand up to cookie dough. And I love having multiple colors!

  16. Dunno where my comment went - sorry if dup!

I'm 31 and never married which means most of my kitchen wares haven't been upgraded since I bought them in college and grad school. It sure would be fun to cook with "fancy" spatulas!

  17. These look perfectly awesome! My mom bought spatulas for my two daughters (for their hope chests, I guess) that we've been using. When they move out, the spatulas go with them. :( It would be so great to have my own fabulous spatulas!

    ReplyDelete
  18. I have wimpy spatulas that either fall apart or bend without scooping the goodness out of the jar. My spatulas are very sad:(

    ReplyDelete
  19. I love kitchen tools so much and don't even own a decent spatula. These look awesome!

    ReplyDelete
  20. I'm looking for something to replace my old standby Farberware spoonulas that they no longer make. These could be just the ticket...and in color!

    ReplyDelete
  21. The top of my red spatula fell off in a vat of red meat spaghetti sauce as I tried to scrape down the sides. Finding it required transferring the sauce to a different container ladle by ladle. The words I said can never be unheard. Now I am too mad at the sauce to eat it. This spatula would SAVE THE SAUCE!

  22. Need spatulas please. I'm in desperate need of help in the kitchen. Thanks!

    ReplyDelete
  23. I only have one such spatula which is not enough because who wants to clean it right in middle of cooking. A set of 3 would be amazing!

    ReplyDelete
  24. I love spatulas, but I am super hard on mine, I end up having to replace them every 3 or 4 months, which is crazy! I'm so excited about the possibility of such strong ones that are made of a SINGLE piece of silicone...AMAZEBALLS! :D

  25. I have been loving your product recommendations and these spatulas look like another great product. I would love to own a few!

  26. These look fabulous. Excellent design and fun colors! I look forward to trying these.

  27. I have two kids and it can go in the dishwasher...enough said! Plus pretty colors too.

  28. What a great new tool, and great chance to introduce myself since I've been getting your blog via email for over a year now! I'm a hair stylist by trade and an avid baker/candy maker from Thanksgiving through new years, this makes me want to temper some chocolate, or fold some crushed candy canes into meringue cookies, despite the sweltering Chicago weather today!

    ReplyDelete
  29. I just took a cooking class and we got into a convo about how the right spatula can save the day. I'm ready to upgrade from the ones I bought at Kitchen Collection back in college. :)

  30. I don't enjoy cooking but my daughter (Alicia) and husband both do. What they don't enjoy is my dull knives, old spatulas, odd variations of bowls and pans etc. etc... Maybe if I surprised them with these new spatulas they will buy me jewelry instead of kitchen utensils!!!

  31. As I was using my spatula this morning to get the yummy remnants out of my blender from my smoothie (and the head fell off -- yes yes it did) I had added new spatulas to my every growing list of NEED items. This is certainly great timing.

    ReplyDelete
  32. I love these! Form and function combined and I use spatulas for just about everything, getting the smoothie out of a blender, the last of sauces and condiments out of tiny jars and yes, to scramble eggs! THese look so pretty too in all the rainbow colors. Want need must have!

    ReplyDelete
  33. I love spatulas! I use them for pretty much everything I cook.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Love you! Love your books! Love to cook! Just moved into my own place!! And don't have any kitchen things... Help a girl out ;)

  35. I NEED these spatulas! Daughter is leaving for college and is determined to take the KitchenAid mixer (I guess because she asked for and received it as a Christmas gift that's okay) and my best baking utensils...including my good spatulas. I have hauled my big favorite one out of ther boxes and she keeps sneaking it back in. The fact that she bakes 100 times more often than I do has NO BEARING on whether or not I need a spatula. If I had these, I could let her take off with the inferior (don't slap me) Pampered Chef spatulas.

    ReplyDelete
  36. Ooooh, these spatulas seem fantastic! I can't even tell you how many wooden handle spatulas I've had to toss because they were starting to skeeve me out (stupid little unclean spaces!).

    ReplyDelete
  37. I desperately need new spatulas! The wood and silicon are not getting along on mine.

    ReplyDelete
  38. Ooohh ooooh, me me me! I am learning to cook (er, trying to learn to cook) and have made plenty a kitchen disaster over the last couple of months! I keep running into the same problem you mentioned, only having two spatulas (that are not nearly as cool as these) and having to stop and wash them for reuse. Thanks for the lovely offer!

    ReplyDelete
  39. My daughter broke my bestest spatula during Christmas baking. I replaced it with one from Dollar Tree *hangs head in shame*. I promise to toss that one right out the back door if I should happen to win these wonderful ones! And even if I don't - I still promise to replace that one with a set of these that I buy on my own. Red, Red, Red.

  40. Spatulas are like shoes; you can never have too many. These look amazing, and I LOVE all the colors!

    ReplyDelete
  41. My spatulas are all rachet-looking and I hate to use them in front of anyone which is sad because half of the joy of cooking is having people in your kitchen to chat and drink wine whilst mixing and whatnot. Plus, having new spatulas will make me look like somebody and I could use that right now.

Win or lose, those are a great find! Thanks for sharing.

  42. Because cake batter tastes better on a spatula...that and there might have been an incident during the toasting of spices for pho that blackened and flavored my cheapo seamed spatula. :) I could definitely use a less...spicy spatula that works and maintains integrity.

  45. I bake bread everyday and also love to cook and bake other things. I´m sure this would make baking much easier and more nice. And those ones look pretty good too!

    ReplyDelete
  46. I am a frequent baker. It's so hard to find a good spatula --- my mom has the best one and she got it free from Betty Crocker decades ago

    ReplyDelete
  47. This would be great because my spatulas are old

    ReplyDelete
  48. I am hyperventilating trying to keep myself from ordering these in every color. I keep buying spatulas looking for the perfect one.

  49. Best spatula story: first day of Home Ec (7th grade); teacher holds up a utensil, says, "What is this?" Everyone says, "Spatula!" She throws it and says, "NO! IT'S A PANCAKE TURNER, THIS RUBBER THING IS A SPATULA!" (she was also a little nuts about the 'mango/bell pepper' confusion that some Hoosiers have). So trust me, I have a deeply ingrained appreciation for the proper spatula!!

    ReplyDelete
  50. These would change my life because we haven't gotten spatulas since our wedding nine years ago!

    ReplyDelete
  51. somehow i always manage to burn the spatula or leave it too close to the burner! or it falls on the floor and i have to find the back up one! would love a set of these esp the different sizes makes it easier when you are making pancakes and eggs!

    ReplyDelete
  52. These would be awesome to have! Thinking Forest Gump style of a million things I could use them for!

  53. OMG! Adorable teal spatulas to match my new teal kitchen!!! And I HATE subpar spatulas -- I've thrown away dozens that have disappointed me over the years!!

    ReplyDelete
  54. Love the orange and teal - my kitchen is so boring and these would help make it more fun! Great looking product!

  55. Stacey- You described my spatulas perfectly…The wood and silicone have decided not to love each other! Hilarious! -Nancy

  56. I break the tops off of spatulas constantly, but the seamless natuure of these are perfect! stacy@stacycochran.com

    ReplyDelete
  57. Love that they are made out of one piece and all those colors! Win win situation!

    ReplyDelete
  58. Those look great! I started buying spatulas that have removable tops because I couldn't stand the gook that collected at the seams. Being able to take the pieces apart is great, except that I've lost more than a few of the skinny ones down the garbage disposal. My husband will be so glad not to have to dig them out any more :)

    ReplyDelete
  59. It would be great to have a nice set that were not an employee service award recognizing 5 years of service at my company. Yes, I got a set of spatulas. Thanks for the chance!

    ReplyDelete
  60. I would love these because they would really help making candy because they are heat resistant. I love that they come in different colors, too.

    ReplyDelete
  61. I haven't purchased a new spatula in awhile so these would come in handy.

    ReplyDelete
  62. I love spatulas because they do not scratch the bottom of the pots and pans!

  64. So now I know that getting excited over buying a lime-green spatula (which turned out not to work the greatest but is SO pretty) is NOT weird! :)

    ReplyDelete
  65. They would change my life because I have only one giant spatula and I am being made increasingly aware that bigger is NOT always better! I need a variety of sizes for different dishes.

  68. Ooooooooh! I so need these to replace my collection of random spatulas. Pick me!

    ReplyDelete
  69. No spatula lasts longer than 6 months in my house. I always manage to break them! They separate at the head and the handle so a spatula that is one piece would be awesome. It is going on my amazon wish list right now.

    ReplyDelete
  70. Would love to have new spatulas - and ones that match!

    ReplyDelete
  71. I'm the same way! I have a dozen wooden spoon,ps and about the same for spatula and tongs! I hate having to wash something when I'm cooking. These look fabulous!,

    ReplyDelete
  72. I would guard these with my life.

    ReplyDelete
  73. I would LOVE to win these spatulas! I would use them to make the most scrumptious German Chocolate Cake anyone has ever tasted!!

    ReplyDelete
  74. It's time for me to retire my old rubber spatulas and these would be an awesome replacement!

    ReplyDelete
  75. Baking, baking, baking and hopefully they won't melt in the dishwasher : )

    ReplyDelete
  76. Baking! And hoping they won't melt in the dishwasher.

    ReplyDelete
  77. I really, really like that these are all one piece...no more cleaning between the handle and the head! These would be awesome for all my baking! Thank you!!

    ReplyDelete
  78. I need these and am drooling over them. Multiples! With multiple uses! How could you not want?

    ReplyDelete
  79. I love cooking and baking and LOVE spatulas..good ones at least. I had an awesome one and my 5 yr old got his hands on it, whacked it hard and broke it :( Now im desperate to find one as good...these look great! TY for the chance

    ReplyDelete
  80. My husband would love it if I win these and could get rid of my crappy ones that fall apart! Like you I NEED multiples of everything.

    ReplyDelete
  81. An easy to clean, perfect sized spatula is the holy grail of cooking. These sound great!

    ReplyDelete
  82. i love to bake and never have enough spatulas!

    ReplyDelete
  83. Ooooh I am in dire need of some new spatulas. If I win these Icould flip my eggs perfectly without busting the yolk. Lol.

    ReplyDelete
  84. I, like you, use spatulas for everything (doesn't everyone?) and doesn't everything go in the dishwasher to be cleaned anyways? (Except for the expensive pots & pans I had to add to my wedding registry 25 years ago - still don't have the guts to put those in the dishwasher, I should try it though, just to see, right?).
But having fun, color spatulas would be beyond amazing. Especially ones that don't fall apart when I use them or have last week's food stuck inside them (yuck!).

    ReplyDelete
  85. I like the fact that these withstand some fairly high temperatures. This would make it less likely that I might accidentally melt one of them, as I have done to spatulas in the past.

    ReplyDelete
  86. The same as you; using them for everything and not being able to get the 'gunk' out of the inside.

    ReplyDelete
  87. I would love them for all of the reasons you listed, with one very important addition: they sound BOY-proof! :) Honestly, my kitchen utensils seem to turn into some sort of hybrid-toy I never would have dreamed possible before I had children. My two sons (6 & 8) have wreaked havoc on my kitchen (though I do love their creativity!), lol

    ReplyDelete
  88. I, too, love my spatula and use it for almost everything! On most nights, I cook and my boyfriend does the dishes. He would be thrilled if I could cook an entire meal without asking him to clean the spatula every 5 minutes. Thrilled.

    ReplyDelete
  89. hmmm.. tough question - aren't all spatulas life changing?

My house looks like Rainbow Bright decorated it - every room is a vibrant and happy color - since these spatulas come in so many amazing colors I can transport them to any room, do kitchen like things in that room, and still match my decor...

    ReplyDelete
  90. My suitor is an amazing cook & terrible mess! These would be wonderful to have as I am the clean-up crew!

  95. I love spatulas too, and I'm a little picky. These look thin, and I think I'd like them. I have one from Williams-Sonoma that's beautiful but clunky. I guess paying an arm and a leg isn't always a guarantee. Plus, did you notice along with all the different colors they have a "bacon" one? Nice!

    ReplyDelete
  96. I work my spatulas so hard I have to keep a rotation going…otherwise I would be spending more money than I already do! The more spatulas, the better!

    ReplyDelete
  97. I like that it is all one part. No gunk under the head of the spatula anymore!!! It is "strong enough to work with stiff cookie dough but soft enough to make perfect eggs"; using them and cleaning them sounds simple & easy!!!
